“Aparavi transforms data chaos into intelligent information availability that fuels knowledge and accelerates innovation”
In recent times, data is being created at exponential rate and volume. Terms like data analytics, big data, and unstructured data are creating a whirlwind effect. At times it can be chaotic. Companies understand that they need a strategic plan in place to manage their data. Risk mitigation is still a significant part of the mix, and organizations are on the lookout for ways to make use of data to create new opportunities and competitive advantage.
Companies that overcome data chaos emerge as victors in the new paradigm, so Aparavi Software Corp has come up with cutting- edge solutions to keep their clients ahead of the curve. The Aparavi Platform reduces complexity, operating expenses, and risk while providing greater insight into information. Aparavi’s intelligent search and advanced automation help users find, classify, protect, and optimize their data from the edge, on-premises, and across multi-cloud storage to break through data silos and transform and simplify data operations. Aparavi answers today’s most demanding data challenges through a single platform for data governance, compliance, IT consolidation, and new open, secure access for additional applications in the cloud. Aparavi, the Platform, provides data intelligence and automation that empowers organizations to control and exploit their data without complexity. It is the path to controlling costs, reducing risk, and gaining insight for data-driven companies. Without the Aparavi Platform, this effort requires multiple products that don’t work together, creating unwanted cost and complexity. With Aparavi, users no longer need to put pieces of a puzzle together; they can automate many operations to quickly discover, understand, and put their data to work. The Platform was designed to ensure data management is secure and scalable and does not require huge IT infrastructure.
In conversation with Adrian Knapp, Founder and CEO of Aparavi Software Corp
Q. A startup may or may not function as expected. It takes everything to stand out and compete in the business world, was it the same for your company?
At Aparavi we have steadily improved our platform capabilities by listening to our customers and evolving our offerings with their feedback to meet their ever-changing and ever-growing critical data needs. We did this by launching an ‘Early Access Program’ to provide GA-quality product to select customers. We will continue with this even though the platform is GA. Continuous updates to the SaaS-based platform make it easy to select program participants and gain a collaborative development effort with our customers and their day-to-day experiences. Our platform stands for what we are.
Q. A startup is defined by its core values. What are your company’s core values and how did they help you to succeed?
Our core value is the same as our mission, which is to provide our customers with a powerful solution that solves their daunting challenge of how to find, classify, optimize, and get the full value of their data intelligently. Years ago we saw that unstructured data is one of the biggest challenges enterprises face. This is why we started, why we exist and why we will not compromise. Additionally, our goal is to disrupt the status quo of blindly moving data around and around without understanding its value. Insight is key. However, automation reduces human error and improves productivity.
Q. Any company, big or small, must have the sense of authenticity and originality to succeed, what do you want to be, a leader or a follower?
Definitely a leader and a catalyst. We saw the need for a dramatic change in the way data is managed beyond the historic swim lanes of replication, backup, archive and discovery. We are fulfilling our mission to give our customers what they need to implement it. Too long have technology companies filled a du jour gap or problem, versus looking at the whole data lifecycle and designing solutions that scale, however tightly coupled with understanding data and its relevance at any point in time.
Customer service varies, but companies can still be successful.
Q. How do you maintain your customers’ trust and loyalty?
Our team of executives has made themselves ‘’trusted advisors’’ to our customers and potential customers. They are online from installation and are available at all times as our customers grow and need change. We always try to understand our customer and customer’s business challenges, which then translate into what data challenges they may have and the most pressing use cases, as they say, listen more and learn more. Often the bottom line is saving. The platform does a lot of things, but saving our customers money is the key. All too often, many tech companies like to tout their features and functions, which at the end of the day matter not. The customer wants your understanding then to propose a solution versus some who again tout their portfolio and say take your pick. I have seen vendors thrown out of companies when such practices have happened.
As a question on sustainability,
Q. where do you see your company a couple of years from now?
We expect to see a continuing change in data demands, and we will be at the forefront of developing new and exciting offerings. Clearly, data is growing and particularly in the unstructured content space i.e., not databases, but in files, including media, commercial IoT, documents, email, social, and more; additionally data is being repurposed for other uses. All of this tends to be a challenge when so many vendors try to lock customers into proprietary systems, storage, or software data types no one can access. Aparavi is open; we find data, classify, optimize, and make available for other uses in an open and secure way across any cloud, whether on or off-premise.
