Robots in antiquity and through the Middle Ages were used primarily for entertainment. However, the 20th century featured a boom in the development of industrial robots. Through the rest of the century, robots changed society's structure and allowed for safer conditions for labor. Also, the implementation of advanced robotics in the military and NASA has changed the landscape of national defense and space exploration. Robots have also been influential in the media and profitable for toy manufacturers.

Sarcos Robotics is the world leader in design, development, and deployment of highly mobile and dexterous robots that combine human intelligence, instinct, and judgment with robotic strength, endurance, and precision to augment worker performance. Leveraging more than 25 years of research and development, Sarcos makes revolutionary robotics products designed to save lives, reduce injury, and improve productivity. The firm is revolutionizing a myriad of industries by deploying robots that will create the safest, most productive, and cost-effective workforce in the world. Sarcos products are designed to address unmet needs in the following industries: manufacturing, construction, logistics, oil & gas, aviation, aerospace, automotive, mining, infrastructure inspection, defense, and public safety.

Revolutionary products furnished by Sarcos Robotics

Guardian® S: Premier surveillance and inspection tool, the Guardian S robot, is uniquely capable, cost-effective, and man-portable, weighing approximately 17 lbs. (8 kg). The robot can reliably traverse challenging terrain and facilitate two-way, real-time video, voice, and data communication, all from a safe distance. It provides situational awareness for tactical operations, detects hazardous materials, and relays critical intelligence. It also offers a unique opportunity to keep first responders out of harm's way by letting them check readings and collect data from a distance. It transmits two-way video, audio, and sensor data while the operator stays at a safer standoff distance. Command Center provides robot control, data gathering, analytics, and secure communications.

Guardian® GT: An award-winning, force-multiplying robotic system with one or two highly dexterous arms mounted on a track or wheeled base allows a single operator to do more safely. From basic labor-saving tasks like heavy lifting to intricate processes like welding and joining, the human-controlled industrial robot provides an unparalleled combination of dexterity and strength for the operator. It creates new possibilities in nuclear reactor inspection and maintenance, petroleum, construction, and heavy equipment manufacturing and revolutionizing palletizing and de-palletizing, loading and unloading supplies, shipboard, and in-field logistics, erecting temporary shelters, equipment repairs, and more. It is also saving lives by assisting humans in disaster recovery and other forms of humanitarian assistance, such as Med-Evac and moving rocks and debris in a controlled manner.

Guardian® XO®: The Guardian XO full-body exoskeleton is the world's first battery-powered industrial robot to combine human intelligence, instinct, and judgment with the power, endurance, and precision of machines. Set to transform the way work gets done, the Guardian XO industrial exoskeleton augments operator strength without restricting freedom of movement to boost productivity while dramatically reducing injuries. Born of a fundamental need to safely enable humans to be more productive, the Guardian XO full-body industrial exoskeleton robot is the perfect synergy of human and machine. It is revolutionizing the way work gets done. Uniquely suited for safer, more productive manufacturing/assembly, construction, field service, and warehouse/logistics use cases, the Guardian XO enables a single person to deliver the productivity of many, while significantly reducing the risk of occupational injury.
