Joe Sernio, Shoreline Media Marketing Founder and CEO, spoke exclusively to The Silicon Review. Below is an excerpt.
Q. Marketing communications is more than just a method of promoting a brand. Do you help your clients develop a strategic vision about leveraging various marketing opportunities?
We do. We focus on lead generation and brand awareness. With each custom strategy, we make sure that each client is utilizing every digital area that makes sense for them. What they need not, what they ‘should be doing’ because people tell them that. It’s all custom to each business, industry, and budget. We go about helping businesses with no brand create a brand using our third-party vendors for logo designs and graphic arts, focusing on startup companies. This is huge for companies just starting. With our newly renovated space, we have over 5,600 square feet to provide training and seminars on this, if needed.
Q. Explain your services in brief.
Digital marketing for all sizes of businesses and franchises! We have the staff and power to handle any business anywhere and help them succeed online. Whether they are selling services or products, we can do it.
Q. Effective SEO means you rank high. Sites that rank high are targeted by competitors who want a slice of the SEO pie, which means you’re always on your toes. How do you manage to keep yourself ahead of the curve?
We use the latest tools and software to help guide our clients in the right direction. Most of our competitors cannot come close to our service and customer service. Our customers see huge ROI on all digital. It takes a very well-structured team to get things done in the digital space, and it took me a long time to build that team. We have the manpower and tools to help. Have clients left? Of course, they have. The grass is not always greener. I have been there. I have done it. That is why we do what we do, provide what we provide, and continue to be the best at it. We research, we test, and we collect data. We have custom reports, platforms, and more, from SEO reporting to Marketing Automation and Lead Nurturing. Once we get that lead for you, we want to be sure that the lead is closed, and if you need help doing it, we want to provide the tools for it.
Q. You could update all your content and website features and still not find that your site has improved. Is it possible to promise results?
Anything is possible. The website plays a big part in any digital strategy. Usually, if something is not working, some do not understand the complexity of the industry or the competitiveness of that industry online. The more competitive, the more aggressive you need to be. Some think that these SEO companies that charge $299 or $499 will get them ranked, but what they do not know is that they may rank but for keywords that zero of their customers or clients are searching for, which in result turns into zero leads for them. Research is key. What are people searching for, and how does your site get them there.
Besides, if your digital marketing is organized, then it’s easy to build a custom strategy that works. If your strategy is organized, it’s easy to build a content strategy that works. If your entire digital marketing is organized, then it’s easy to build a lead nurturing system. It’s all organizing and doing it correctly. It’s a lot of work, but that’s what we are here for.
Q. Staying ahead of trends is something today’s marketing/media firms must do. How do you manage to do that?
Training and research! We belong to the top partner programs; Google, HubSpot, etc. Our team is always enhancing and growing their knowledge through certifications, training, and more. Even if it’s something basic, they do it. We also have custom developers that work on our custom platforms. Every update that comes out via Google or other platforms, we are on top of it. We have back-end programmers that sit and make changes as needed on our custom reporting platforms and marketing automation platforms. We are averaging an update/enhancement on both every two months or so, providing the best tools and reports out there.
Q. What does the future hold for Shoreline Media Marketing and its customers? Are exciting things on the way?
Absolutely! I know I keep mentioning this, but we are super excited about the renovations. We took this pandemic and did not let it stop us. We acquired our entire building and now have access to over 5,600 square feet. One of the highlights is training and seminars for clients. We are working with Google, HubSpot, and other platforms to provide seminars and training for all service areas that we offer. Clients will be able to come into Shoreline regularly and take part in these events at no cost. We are also implementing updates and upgrades to our new CRM/Marketing Automation platform. It’s a game-changer for lead nurturing. We are also adding two new members to our administrative advisory board. This board consists of highly trained professionals in all types of industries such as pest control, online sales, healthcare, home services, pet services, and so much more that help bring ideas and organization to Shoreline. It’s a big part of our growth. We are expanding about every two years.
