Tactical Rehabilitation’s inspiring and powerful mission was led by its founder, David Marr, to improve the services and products available to the country’s active-duty military service members, veterans, and their families. David saw the inadequacies prevalent in healthcare for the US Military and made it his, and all of Tactical Rehabilitation’s, mission to raise the bar on the standard of care given to our nation’s heroes. Tactical Rehabilitation prides itself on providing the highest-quality durable medical products and the highest level of service to its patients. This ranges from custom orthotics with Tactical Rehabilitation’s partner Sole Supports to transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation and includes a plethora of other solutions such as bracing and more. The company’s particular focus and expertise are in the following areas: The company’s main offerings are musculoskeletal, biomechanical, non-pharmaceutical pain relief, and parasomnia solutions; however, it also offers solutions in a variety of other areas with highly trained staff to support them. Tactical Rehabilitation strives to continually expand its product and partner diversity every year based on the needs of patients and their providers. All of Tactical Rehabilitation’s products are battle-tested to ensure that they will withstand some of the most extreme conditions, as its patients require durable and dependable products, both at home and on the battlefield.

Tactical Rehabilitation also views itself as a technology company, both in the use of technology to improve the patient experience and in the new technologies it co-develops with its partners to bring better healthcare solutions with those partners to their patients. Tactical Rehabilitation continues to upgrade its operational and informational systems to leverage the best in technology to improve its ability to maximize time with patients by leveraging new operational infrastructure and financial systems, along with digital 3D capture and transmission of patient orthotics needs right to partner Sole Supports, who then blocks them out in 3D printing as step 1 of several that creates the ultimate, and unsurpassed, orthotic.

In its product design, Tactical Rehabilitation leverages the best in innovative research and technology to bring new wave forms to its custom-designed TENS unit that is the first of its kind to house multiple wave forms and multiple TENS, NMES, and more into a single unit, saving the federal government from purchasing three units for those patients that may benefit from these multiple wave forms for pain management and reduction. As it develops new products, like its parasomnia solutions, Tactical Rehabilitation also takes a true partnership approach between the companies it innovates with, the research it partners to obtain for the best clinical solution, and the technology that will enable the healing process for its patients.

In conversation with Kevin MacRitchie, CEO of Tactical Rehabilitation

Q. How important is ‘innovation’ to what you do at Tactical Rehabilitation?

Innovation is a key element to our long-term success in the industry. Medicine and Technology are ever changing, and it is essential that we lead the way in terms of best practices, improving our product line to support our patients’ needs, and to honor our mission to provide the best products to our patients. That means we are constantly evaluating our offerings to ensure we are providing the top of the line, identifying opportunities for product and process improvements, and enlisting our partners and vendors to help support that mission. Innovation with our partners and through new collaborative uses of technology is among the many reasons Tactical Rehabilitation is among the Top Solutions Providers to the US Military.

Q. What are the most challenging environments that you have worked in? What makes Tactical Rehabilitation’s products endure these harsh environments?

It is our patients that see the most challenging of environments. Be it the battlefield, strategic counterterrorism, mission support, training, or infrastructure and support entities; the US Military is the ultimate in challenging their people to be their very best in order to protect our nations and the freedoms we so enjoy. We view it as our mission to therefore provide each service man and women the very best through our similar efforts to bring the best solutions and products through the most highly trained staff in the industry to ensure the “Service Ready” status of everyone who proudly serves our nation.

Q. It’s a job seeker’s market now. It is harder than ever to attract and hire top candidates. How do you identify qualified individuals?

While the job market is in favor of the job seeker, I believe that due to the honorable and genuine nature of Tactical Rehabilitations’ mission and culture, we attract some of the best applicants in the market. We have a thorough application process which allows us to identify quality skill levels, as well as gauge the individual’s personal goals and motivations. We have found that while experience is always preferred, we also enjoy providing first time employment opportunities to those who have a heart to serve others and are go-getters, educate and develop them through a challenging and rewarding environment, and as result, they become very successful and life-long team members as we serve the needs of our patients. When seeking applicants for an open position, we place emphasis on our core values:

  • Patient care to die for because they would die for us.
  • A profound level of respect for one another.
  • Making a positive difference in the lives of our team members, patients, and providers.

Q. Do you have any new services ready to be launched?

We are always looking towards the future with different products as solutions for our patients. We routinely introduce new products and solutions as well as upgrades to existing products. Stay tuned, it won’t take long to hear of another new or upgraded solution coming from Tactical Rehabilitation.

Q. What does the future hold for your company and its customers? Are exciting things on the way?

Exciting times is what we continually create from solutions for our patients to the experience of our employees daily. Our opportunity to serve an ever expanding base of providers and patients is only limited by our intentional conservative pace to ensure we grow at a pace that allows continuously innovating and providing the same quality “Tactical Experience” to each and every patient that visits with us for a better solution.
