Q. What are the impacts of cloud technology on a company’s IT infrastructure today?

The utility-based and service-oriented IT model is no longer a plain hardware or software market. Currently, vendors can offer email apps, production systems, security options, storage, and backup services, to name just a few of the IT components that can be moved to the cloud. Here are the impacts of cloud technology on a company’s IT infrastructure:

Q. Artificial Intelligence has been the buzzword, and it will continue to hit the stride. Do you think enterprises should embrace AI to drive cloud technology?

Artificial intelligence (AI) workloads are becoming central to cloud computing as it is prophesied to have a larger role in optimizing the hyper-converged infrastructures that underpin today’s enterprise clouds. The cloud technology can help AI by providing the required information for the learning processes while the AI can help cloud by providing information that can offer more data.

AI equips cloud technology with enormous powers, enabling machines to act, react, think and learn in the manner human beings do. It assists different machines in making decisions and identifying the patterns. Such a process helps in eradicating the chances of human errors in the cloud ecosystem. It can be applied anywhere on cloud infrastructure where you can collect data, measure, and make predictions. Also, it is capable of streamlining the immense capacities of the cloud. I believe AI will definitely be a great add-on to the cloud technology.

The increasing transitions of data from in-house servers to hybrid infrastructures in the cloud are further increasing the security risk. And to cope up with the ever-increasing corporate spying and digital theft, enterprises need to address the cybersecurity at the corporate-level. Here is our approach to overcome the high-risk security threats associated with a cloud:

• We limit data access based on user context: We change the level of access to data in the cloud depending on where the user is and what device they are using.
• We undertake a risk-based approach to securing assets used in the cloud: We have the ability to identify databases with highly sensitive or valuable data and to provide extra protection, encryption, and monitoring around them.
• We add intelligence to network protection: The network needs to be protected and at Swash, we have Network protection devices which have the ability to provide extra control with analytics and insight.

Dr. Pritam Pal, Founder & CEO: Dr. Pal is leading the IT revolution in Odisha for more than a decade and Swash is one of the very few IT companies that are in the limelight for its ground-breaking research.

With a passion for technology, Dr. Pal made his first software in the 9th standard by referring books. Later, he completed an A-level diploma in software and then prepared a hotel management software, including enterprise solutions for 6 business houses.

Dr. Pal holds a B. Tech in computer science, an M.S and MBA in Cmap from Xavier’s Institute of Management. He also holds a respectable Ph.D. degree in cloud computing.
