Challenges in growing from small to big: JMR Infotech

The success story of JMR Infotech was scripted in the year 2007 when Jayafar Moidu and his colleagues dedicated themselves to the collective vision of creating a Global Brand and rest as they say is history.

The covenant leader in the Banking domain
In 2007, the small team at JMR Infotech guided by Jayafar Moidu had two options to achieve their vision. First option was to invest huge capital, hire best of the talents, setup operations in various geographies and create a buzz in the market. Second option was to create a niche, focus on certain niche offerings in a vertical and work towards creating a strong pool of references across various geographies. Team selected the second option as risk involved in the first option was much higher and all JMRians began their journey on this path.

BFSI was the niche vertical that the team chose to focus on and within this also, JMR decided to focus on Oracle Core and channel Banking solutions. This decision was a wise one as JMR not only benefited by successfully creating a strong name for them in Banking vertical but partnership with Oracle also helped them in creating a strong platform to expand their footprint in other verticals.

JMR- then and now
For the first six years of existence, JMR focussed on Oracle’s Financial Services solution offerings by targeting banks and financial services companies for solution offerings and thus created a strong differentiator for the brand from competitors. As a result of that focus, within seven years of their operations, JMR Infotech gained close to 100 customers in 45 countries. To complete the solution offering for entire BFSI vertical, JMR incorporated Financial services Analytical Applications BU in 2013, followed by Insurance Solution BU setup in 2014. By this time, the company also established direct presence in 22 key countries to support the principal and customer in better manner.

Also, by this time, the company had already created a strong reference in key geographies and was ready for the next phase of growth. This phase is marked by two disparate but cohesive developments. One, the innovation and thought leadership led initiative to revolutionise the banking industry by launch of Genie de Banca – A unified digital platform for Banks to bring Buyers and Sellers together – which not only unlocks unforeseen revenue models for banks but also helps them in growing and retaining their customer base. Second, the expansion of offering portfolio to cover entire Oracle Red Stack to drive aggressive growth plan across new verticals and create a bigger global footprint.
