Founded in 2013 by Jonas Gyllensvaan, the origins of SyncDog began with another start up that was acquired by Fixmo. That company was Conceivium and it featured pioneering technology in mobile device management.

Jonas was the co-founder of Conceivium one of the principle architects of the mobile device technology. Eventually Conceivium was sold and Jonas saw that there was a gap in the market for an ISV offering a best-in-class secure mobile application container. From this market opportunity was borne SyncDog, headquartered at Reston, Virginia.

A containerized workspace provides a secure data platform that encrypts and transports data between your enterprise’s backend and secure, “sandboxed” applications on your organization’s mobile devices. SentinelSecure™ protects your enterprise network by securing data at rest and data in transit using FIPS 140-2, AES 256-bit encryption. SentinelSecure™ is a software-based, secure mobility application framework and extension of your enterprise’s security architecture.

The SentinelSecure™ mobilesecurity solution delivers defense-grade secure mobile device partitions or “containers” that can secure emails/contacts, calendar items, IM apps, Internet browsers, mobile file stores and other business apps provisioned on personal devices to be used in a BYOD or COPE (corporate owned personally enabled) setting.

The app workspace supports a multitude of mobile devices including iPhone, iPad, Android Smartphone, and Tablet. The SentinelSecure™ application set can be classified into four workflow categories:

SentinelSecure™ Framework for IoT provides a data feed from IoT modules into the Sentinel Server (mobile security monitoring) or other Enterprise Mobility Management (EMM)/Mobile Device Management (MDM) solution. SentinelSecure™ for IoT is the EMM industry’s only mobility infrastructure for securing enterprise datacenters from threats originating from IoT-connected devices.

The SyncDog architecture protects data both at rest and in transit through Federal Information Processing Standard or FIPS 140-2, AES 256 bit encryption (SentinelSecure™ is FIPS 140-2 certified, NIST cert. #2687). SentinelSecure™ can be provisioned across the SyncDog Sentinel Server, a flexible agent-based MDM platform, or with any EMM/MDM solution.

Utilizing the SyncDog Sentinel Server (or comparable MDM) equipped with the SentinelSecure™ monitoring framework, IT security administrators have the enterprise visibility to incorporate mobile device security into organizational network management strategies that includes the proper audit trails for compliance.

The SyncDog Revenue Model
SyncDog, based in the Washington DC metro area, sells its solutions in both direct and indirect channels. The flexibility of the mobile app container allows the solution to be sold as standalone or bundled with a number of industry-leading MDM solutions, most notably MobileIron. SyncDog also has technology partnering agreements with EMM providers Snow Software, and Notify Technology.

Snow Software, based in the EU provides a distribution and support channel in Europe. SyncDog also has offices in Canada with development and support staff also located there. SyncDog is currently working on establishing partner channels in Latin America and Asia.

Meet the Founder

Jonas Gyllensvaan, CEO and Founder: Jonas Gyllensvaan is a serial entrepreneur with more than 20 years of experience in mobile IT solution development and software business development. Jonas has founded three successful start-ups and is a current board adviser to several others. Over the past 20 years, Jonas has designed, developed and implemented technology projects for government agencies and commercial enterprises in more than a dozen countries.

Jonas spends a good portion of his time visiting customers and traveling to leading industry conferences learning about client and marketplace needs, using this knowledge to build solutions with a focus on technology architecture, product design and business management. Across his 20-year career in mobile IT, Jonas has a proven track record of leading-edge product development, building profitable companies while forging beneficial business partnerships for clients.
