Over the last ten years, Cybersecurity and Compliance have become a significant part of organizations’ day to day process. However, many organizations find it difficult to encourage awareness amongst employees and one of the prime reasons behind this is that the subject matter is boring and dull!

With a mission to help organizations keep their staff safe online, secure their digital assets and help protect their reputation and brand, MetaCompliance was founded in 2005. The company focused on selling commercial off the shelf products (COTS). However, in 2013 it made the transition from on premises to Cloud based products. At the same time, it retained the key pieces of software functionality that customers loved in its earlier products such as the ability to ensure a reply from the user. The MyCompliance suite is one platform with five products. It provides customers with a fully integrated and multilingual suite of compliance capabilities that includes policy management, e-learning, simulated phishing, incident management and privacy management.

“Our cloud-based software is proving extremely popular because it provides all the functionality to manage the end user’s interaction with Cyber Security challenges,” says Robert O’ Brien, founder and CEO of MetaCompliance. “Not only has it allowed us to solidify our position in Ireland and the UK, it has also enabled us to seal new business in other regions across the globe including North America, Asia-Pacific, and the Middle East.”

The Breakthrough

During the initial years, MetaCompliance faced challenges, but the company managed to overcome every single one of them. And in 2012, the company got its first significant project, which was the Olympic Development Authority (ODA) that had been organized to manage and implement the London 2012 Olympics.

At its peak, they had up to 10,000 people working on the project. They required every worker and subcontractor to attest to unique policies and training that they were required to comply with. And they chose the MetaCompliance product to communicate with the workers. As it was the first big enterprise customer, MetaCompliance faced some initial problems with the software when it came to replicating their Active Directory implementation. However, the company’s operations team and development team worked well together, and the problems were quickly resolved.

“This was a great learning experience for which we are grateful,” says Robert. “The sad part is that the project only lasted four years and the organization ceased to exist in that form after the closing ceremony of the Olympics.”

Today after years of hard work, MetaCompliance stands as a challenger in the industry, consistently innovating and disrupting the human aspect of cybersecurity and compliance.

Innovation Is the Key

Cyber-attacks pose a greater and more complex threat to businesses than they did several years ago and the MetaCompliance product suite has been created and designed to directly address the specific challenges that arise from cyber threats and corporate governance. With a commitment to innovation and a product range that meets the needs of organizations around the world, the company makes it easier for users to engage in information security and compliance.

The company has an extensive range of regularly updated eLearning training that are simply the best quality motion graphics available in this market. MetaCompliance designs its entire Cyber Security eLearning catalogue using its in-house design team and releases new titles every 3 months to ensure that customers are receiving the most relevant and up to date content available.

Setting Realistic Customer Expectations

To make its offerings more customer-centric, MetaCompliance has a culture of feedback and review, which is crucial to the development and success of its products. The company actively encourages its customers to let it know how the offerings can be improved. Having an in-house team of designers and software developers, MetaCompliance implements the suggested changes to help improve the customer experience and ultimately improve the product going forward.

“Our customers are at the heart of our business and we are committed to providing world-class products and services that meet the needs of our customers,” Robert adds.

The Future Roadmap

Looking into the future, the company has a new release of its learning management system (LMS), MetaLearning on its roadmap. This is planned to launch in the fourth quarter of 2018. MetaLearning is a user friendly LMS; it allows customers to tailor their required cybersecurity courses to the employee role and determine the duration. So, rather than a “one size fits all” approach to training, this solution allows the training administrator to choose the elements of courses they require and construct the most appropriate training for their staff. In addition, the customer can also customize the branding and the types of questions and games they wish users to complete.

The company helps its clients fend off the worst cyber threats that their staff face on a day to day basis. MetaCompliance believes that soon they will be the “go to” company, when it comes to cybersecurity and compliance awareness.
