“The precondition to freedom is security” - Rand Beers

In today’s world of Internet and technology, security breaches are getting more frequent and dangerous for organizations across the globe. Companies are seeking new ways to ensure that their networks, applications and data remain secure. The move to the cloud, the advance of mobile users and device, and the growing global partner ecosystems are significantly complicating these efforts as users – employees and third-parties – are relying on the Internet, instead of a LAN or WAN, to access select parts of organizations’ applications.

Based out of Sunnyvale, California, USA, Soha Systems Inc. is the innovator of Enterprise Secure Access delivered as a service for data center and hybrid cloud environments. Its flagship service, Soha Cloud, offers a radically new alternative for providing mobile employees and third parties access to applications. Users can access all enterprise apps through a unified portal, with a single point of control, in any network environment. It creates a “cloud perimeter” to protect an organization’s infrastructure from Internet threats, including distributed denial of service (DDoS) attacks. It minimizes a customer’s attack surface and hides applications from public exposure. Through Soha Cloud, authenticated users are granted micro granular access to specific applications, eliminating pure network access. Access is secured using identity-based management and fortified access controls, as well as data path security features including web application firewall, antivirus and data leakage protection.

Providing secure remote access with Soha Cloud
Soha Systems delivers a radically new approach for providing secure remote access to employees and third party users who use corporate applications hosted behind data center firewalls and hybrid cloud environments. Soha Cloud delivers stronger security, is simpler to deploy, and is cheaper than existing products in the market.

Unlike traditional VPNs and remote desktop solutions, Soha Cloud:

  • Ensures remote users only get access to the specific applications they are authorized for and nothing else on the network. Soha Cloud’s unique dual-cloud architecture closes all inbound access to your infrastructure, reducing your attack surface. No one can get to apps directly; applications are hidden from the Internet and public exposure.
Provides secure access to applications in minutes. Because Soha Cloud is a security service, initial deployment and on-going support require no network changes, endpoint clients, or truck rolls. The IT workload is lightened substantially, enabling teams to work on more strategic initiatives.
  • Provides integrated logging and reporting of all accesses. Soha Cloud keeps a complete audit trail of access attempts to each application, including a searchable transcript of each SSH administrative session.
Enables a fast, seamless and hassle-free end user experience. Instead of using a cumbersome VPN client, end-users gain access to applications through any browser or mobile app; they enter their credentials – username, password and optional multi-factor authentication – to identify them and are dynamically provisioned access to private enterprise applications.

Clientele
Soha targets medium to large enterprise customers in North America. Its customers include IBM, McClarens Global Claims Services, Spirent, Bugcrowd and the ARC of Ulster-Greene.

Client Testimonial
“We were really stuck in the mud on remote access. Soha solves this in a way that is much, much simpler. It’s completely turning us upside down in a good way.” – Bart Louwagie, CIO, The ARC of Ulster-Greene

Case Study
The Arc of Ulster-Greene is part of a national not-for-profit organization that offers afull array of services to people affected by intellectual or developmental disabilities. The objective was to provide secure mobility and remote access to users. The company faced plenty of challenges such as the need for an additional layer of application access security using multifactor authentication, increasing mobile workforce, etc. With Soha Cloud, every ARC of Ulster-Greene user could access applications securely with multifactor authentication (MFA), in compliance with HIPAA requirements. From any device with a browser, users need only to enter a URL for the applicationthey need, provide their Active Directory login credentials and MFA one-time passcode. The IT team did not have to audit the end user’s location for compliance because no personal healthcare information could be uploaded or downloaded from the user’s machine.

Geographies
Since Soha Cloud is a cloud service, it is suitable for use worldwide. Currently, the company is focused on the North American market.
