Delivering the Modern Platform for Machine Learning and Analytics Optimized For the Cloud: Cloudera

thesiliconreview-tom-reilly-ceo-cloudera-18“To understand what drives our technology, one must first take a look under the hoodie.”

Cloudera was founded in 2008 by some of the brightest minds at Silicon Valley’s leading companies, including Google (Christophe Bisciglia), Yahoo! (Amr Awadallah), Oracle (Mike Olson), and Facebook (Jeff Hammerbacher). Its founders held at their core the belief that open source, open standards, and open markets are best. That belief remains central to our values. Doug Cutting, co-creator of Hadoop, joined the company in 2009 as Chief Architect and remains in that role. Today, Cloudera has more than 1,600 employees — each with their own hoodie. It has offices in 24 countries around the globe, with its headquarters in Palo Alto, California.

Fast Forward Labs Research: Understanding the business value of innovation at the intersection of machine learning, data science, and statistics can pay off, bringing the recently possible into the realm of possibility and providing key competitive differentiation for your organization.

Avoid analysis paralysis:

Despite its promise, machine learning can be downright daunting. Best efforts can be quickly undermined by uncertainty about a rapidly changing technical landscape, bewilderment on how best to build and organize teams, and difficulty separating hype from reality.

Expensive high-profile “AI” pilot projects can quickly consume investments in people, infrastructure, and technology before even reaching production. With the right clarity and guidance, you can easily overcome these challenges to take advantage of machine learning technologies to differentiate your business.

Your data nerd best friends:

Free up executives and data science teams to focus on the future of the business with a virtual dedicated research staff that continually monitors the latest techniques and industry best practices, determining how best to apply them to your difficult business problems.

Cloudera Fast Forward Labs’ applied machine learning research—and complementary strategic advisory services—provides just the clarity and practical guidance your busy organization needs.

SDX technologies: Experience your data. Your way. Cloudera SDX is a powerful software framework that makes multi-function data apps easier to develop, less expensive to deploy and more secure. Only SDX delivers a shared data experience that works for your data, your apps, and your people — your way.

Built for the enterprise, optimized for the cloud:

Data applications in the cloud are often transient, siloed, run on isolated infrastructure, and at the mercy of isolated security policies and metadata context.

Cloudera Shared Data Experience, or SDX, is a powerful framework that mitigates those issues. It simplifies the development and deployment of multi-function applications in the cloud without sacrificing centralized security, governance, and metadata management traditionally associated with on-premises deployments. Available on-premises, for your cloud-based applications, and now in the public cloud as a managed service, SDX puts your data to work where and when your people need it.

Enterprise Data Hub: Operate with confidence—thanks to comprehensive security and governance—while at the same time enabling unrivaled self-service performance at extreme scale. All in an enterprise-grade solution that lets you run anywhere, on-premises or in hybrid- and multi-cloud environments.

One platform Many applications:

Imagine the possibilities if you could tackle your data warehouse, data science, data engineering, search, and streaming and real-time analytics disciplines with a unified platform. Cloudera Enterprise Data Hub makes that possible, empowering you to solve the most valuable questions by marrying multi-disciplinary analytics with one source of truth.

Cloudera curates and extends an open-source core with countless unique innovations, enhanced, de-risked, and centralized to meet your business-critical enterprise requirements. With Cloudera Shared Data Experience (SDX), you can bring your choice of analytics to the data, with a unified catalog that bridges the most complex environments and ensures consistent security and granular governance.

Load or stream all data into a platform that can tune your workloads and ease lifecycle management. And operate with the same reliable shared services, regardless of where your data lives, in your preferred mix of hybrid- and multi-cloud environments.
