Knowing the Key Executive
Geoff Squire –Executive Chairman
Responsible for the strategic direction for Kognitio, Geoff has more than 45 years’ experience in information technology. Currently he serves on the Board of Directors at Informatica (Nasdaq: INFA) and several privately-held companies.

In 1981 he introduced the Oracle database to the United Kingdom as the exclusive distributor. He subsequently joined the Oracle Corporation, where he became Chief Executive Officer of Oracle Europe and president of Oracle Worldwide Operations (a COO role), reporting to Larry Ellison. He was widely credited with that business’ financial turnaround in 1990 and the building of the global IT powerhouse that Oracle became in that era.

In 1994, he joined OpenVision, a systems management software company, as the President and CEO of the newly-formed international subsidiary. He became CEO of the parent company in 1995, and took the company public on NASDAQ in 1996. He executed the merger with VERITAS Corporation in 1997 and this combined entity grew to be a US $1 Billion dollar business. He remained as Vice Chairman there until the company merged with Symantec in 2005.

A former president of the UK Computing Services & Software Association and the European Information Services Association, Mr. Squire also holds an honorary doctorate from Oxford Brookes University and was honoured by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II in 1997 when he has was awarded an Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE) for his contributions to the information industry.

Roger Gaskell- CTO
Roger started at White Cross Systems, the predecessor to Kognitio, as employee number two. Today, he has overall responsibility for all product development and has been instrumental in all generations of the Kognitio Analytical Platform to date, including evolving it from a database application running on proprietary hardware, to a software-only analytical database built on industry-standard blade servers.

Paul Groom- COO
Responsible for general operations within Kognitio encompassing Kognitio Anlytical Services, Presales support, the Kognitio Analytics Center of Excellence and marketing, Paul has about 30 years of experience working with Very Large Databases (VLDBs) with in depth knowledge of databases, data warehouse and big data technologies.

In his many years with Kognitio, Paul has been a key contributor through delivery of business solutions with many clients and prospects in data mining, web analytics, business intelligence, service based delivery (DaaS), cloud (AWS) innovation, and now data science via the KACE team.

Ian Sandbach- CFO
Ian joined Kognitio from Envox Worldwide where he was EMEA financial controller culminating in the successful sale of the business in 2008. He qualified in practice and is an FCCA.
