Candid Q&A with Gabriel Tupula, and Mark Rhyman

Why was the company set up? How did you select the vertical and decide to be a part of the global platform?
Big Bang ERP aims at becoming the most trusted independent consultant team specializing in business management, collaboration and automation solutions. We believe that all people, in every organization, should have a direct access to the information that enables them to do their best work, from anywhere, anytime. We want to make that vision a reality for enterprises of all sizes and all industries.

Our mission is to make organizations more efficient through implementation of cutting-edge business management & process automation software. We offer seek simple and scalable solutions that respect our clients’ requirements for cost-effectiveness, and scope and quality.

We are able to maintain our competitive edge by being responsive, grounded and working as a team. Our success is the result of collaboration and working together through trusted relationships founded on real results.

Tell us about your first product that was launched.
Our product is a service and customization for third-party products. Big Bang ERP started with NetSuite ERP, Salesforce CRM grew to offer the following products for Implementation, Migration, Customization, Integration, Support and Training: FinancialForce, ServiceNow, RootStock and other 3rd party extender products.

What were the grounds on which you have expanded your company and its offerings over the years?
We constantly offer new and extender products to our clients. We are also increasing our employee count month after month to keep up with our growth; we encourage our team to continually increase their number of certifications to truly offer the best expertise from our consultants and developers. Big Bang ERP has now expanded globally with a new office in the tech capital of Mauritius, Ebene CyberCity, as of October 2016.


What challenges did you face in your initial years?
Growth was a challenge, finding talented staff – we made mentorship programs, leveraged knowledge sharing platforms and we put our employees first. We learnt the value of teamwork and investing in our team.

Are there any trigger factors/events/individuals that have played key roles in shaping your organization’s road map?

The merging of Acumen Factory and Big Bang ERP in Feb 2015, and the territory expansion to the EMEA were two important events in Big Bang ERP’s road map.

What do you feel are the reasons behind your product popularity?
All our products are used worldwide. Netsuite ERP was recently acquired by Oracle which helped prove its credibility.

What is a typical day in your office like?
A typical day is fast-pace. We are responsive in nature, so often you will see gatherings of people working on a project or problem live in collaboration. We have daily scrum meetings, weekly learning sharing in the form of Lunch & Learns or quick How To’s. We want our team to be healthy and happy – we ask everyone to take time at lunch and socialize, we offer yoga and often our badminton area is being used to blow off some steam. On Fridays, we offer a happy hour to finish off the week together.

Do you have any new products ready to be/getting ready to be rolled out into the market?
We have two new products ready to be rolled out:
ServiceNow product offering for Service-based businesses
Rootstock product offering for Manufacturing

Where do you see you and your company a couple of years from now?
We will expand further and to a new U.S. office, and also expand to another territory (APAC). Big Bang ERP aims to employ 100 employees by the end of 2017 – so we need to maintain our growth and sustain it by keeping focus while being agile to changes.

Meet the CEOs

Gabriel Tupula, Co-CEO and Chief Operating Officer: Gabriel is a Software Engineer and Project Management Professional with 10+ years of experience. He has a strong background in large software integration projects, involving financial, marketing, e-commerce, ERP, CRM and CMS applications.

Gabriel is a former COO of a 60+ consultants firm specialized in cloud ERP/CRM implementation, customization, support and system integration.

Mark Rhyman, Co-CEO and Chief Business Development Officer: Mark has a Masters Degree in Computer Science and 10+ years of experience. He is a former CTO of a logistics firm – developer of one of the most extensive integrated logistics networks in North America. He has over 7 years experience in cloud-based ERP consulting and is a Certified NetSuite Administrator and ERP designation.

Mark founded Acumen Factory in 2011, which later merged with Big Bang ERP to form one of the largest cloud solutions providers.
