“We remain purpose-driven and fiercely focused on building and delivering the most innovative solutions, which are designed to work the way you work.”

As the healthcare industry continues to move to a value-based care model, technologies such as Electronic Health Records (EHRs) have the potential to revolutionize practices, making them more efficient, reducing costs and enabling them to provide more coordinated care.

One company leading the charge in ensuring EHRs are successful and efficient for customers and their patients is Greenway Health.

A market leader in the U.S. healthcare space for more than 40 years, Greenway provides software and services to ambulatory practices so physicians and their office staff can better run their businesses, nurture their practices and care for patients. Their primary focus is to make patient-driven care a reality while navigating the ever-changing healthcare system. Greenway accomplishes this through a culture built on quality, compliance and transparency. Greenway continually invests in the company and its solutions to ensure products are not only safe, but that they are providing innovation and next-generation capabilities that will improve the health of communities.

Fueling our customers’ success is at the heart of Greenway’s work. Driven by our five-point customer pledge and our mission to be trusted advisers, we provide innovative technology, quality services, and strategic partnerships that help practices grow profitably, remain compliant, work more efficiently, and improve patient outcomes. Greenway’s team of clinical, financial, and technology experts is committed to innovative solutions that keep people healthier and happier. We connect providers to the right information and insights, at the right place and time, so they can make patient-driven care a reality. Greenway partners with organizations and progressive providers across multiple specialties, which translates into millions of lives touched daily by our solutions.

Richard Atkin, Greenway Health CEO, spoke exclusively to The Silicon Review. Below is an excerpt.

Q. Why was the company set up? And how did you expand your company and its offerings over the years?

Greenway was founded with the idea that our success is tied to the success of our customers. All our high-quality technology solutions — from EHR platforms, revenue cycle management to care coordination services — are designed with the needs of our customers in mind. We take great pride in using their feedback to create services that provide value for them and their patients. Our teams have decades of experience in creating these solutions, as our roots go back with the founding of Medical Manager, our first practice management platform. Following several acquisitions, the company became the present-day Greenway Health after combining with Greenway Medical Technologies in 2013. Since then, we have furthered our reputation as an industry leader for healthcare innovation and a trusted adviser to our customers.

Q. What kind of responses have you received from your consumers over the years? How have they motivated you to shape your offerings/grow the company?

The introduction of the concept of Meaningful Use a decade ago ushered in a new era for EHR adoption. In the years since, Greenway has worked to deliver high-quality health IT solutions and services that create value for providers and patients. Industry frustrations over increased burdens from poor technology implementations are real. But by listening to the needs of our customers and learning from their experiences, we have been able to develop processes to ensure our solutions help, not hinder, providers. This customer feedback has played a pivotal role in the development of our solutions. This is why we rely heavily on our Customer Advisory Board (CAB), comprised of physicians and practice staff — including IT experts, administrators, and revenue management employees — for insight.

Q. A company’s behavior is as important as its economic performance or the quality of its products. How do you interpret this saying?

Greenway’s values demand the company live up to the absolute highest expectations for corporate behavior. For more than 40 years, we have been putting possibility into practice by providing physicians with the motivation, support and technology they need to deliver exceptional patient care and pursue new opportunities. To ensure Greenway balances economic performance with high ethical standards, we developed a five-point pledge focused on lasting partnerships with our customers. At the core of this pledge is a commitment to customer success, quality, compliance, innovation and partnership. With these principles in mind, our goal is always to support our customers and build their trust in our products.

Q. Is your company a leader or a follower?

Greenway is an innovation leader that takes seriously its responsibility to deliver technologies that help practices grow profitably, remain compliant, work more efficiently and improve patient outcomes. Recently named a 2019 North American CHIME Innovation Partner by the College of Healthcare Information Management Executives (CHIME), Greenway is at the forefront of advocating for the effective use of information management in healthcare. In addition, our solutions have consistently been named in KLAS Research’s Best in KLAS report. This illustrates the value these services provide for our customers.

Q. If you have to list five factors that have been/are the biggest asset to your organization, what would they be and why?

That would be Greenway’s five-point pledge, comprised of the guiding principles that lead our daily work and shape how we collaborate with each other. This includes:

Customer success: Greenway will continue to grow as your trusted adviser to fuel the success of your practice. By delivering exemplary solutions and services, we will help you better navigate value-based care, maintain a thriving, profitable practice, deliver exceptional care to your patients, and ultimately achieve the recognition you deserve as a top healthcare provider.

Quality: We commit to making quality job one, adhering to the highest standards in the industry by implementing rigorous internal processes, developing state-of-the-art technology and best-in-class support, and hiring the most passionate people we can find to make your experience with us exceptional.

Compliance: We will continually focus on improving our products and performance through proactive reviews to ensure we meet or exceed all regulatory, privacy, and security requirements, mitigating your operational risk and giving you and your staff peace of mind.

Innovation: We remain purpose-driven and fiercely focused on building and delivering the most innovative solutions, which are designed to work the way you work.

Partnership: We will build a strong, lasting relationship with you, listening to your needs and concerns and acting on them to provide the support, knowledge and peer connections you need to grow and thrive — whether that means enhancing your interactions with staff and patients, improving the health of at-risk patient populations, or boosting the financial health of your practice.

Q. Where do you see your company a couple of years from now?

With insight from our CAB, we will continue to focus on innovating and advancing our next-generation EHR and practice management solution, which is currently under development as Project Polaris. With this project and our other population health and practice management solutions, we aim to be the industry leader, serving our customers and the ambulatory care market.
