Instagram to roll out Archive feature for its iOS and Android users
The Silicon Review
16 June, 2017

Facebook owned well-liked image-sharing platform Instagram has recently announced the launched an innovative feature called Archive for iOS and Android users. The feature allows the user to shift posts (those they have previously shared with their followers) - into a space that will be seen only by the user only. It was been reported last month that Instagram was testing the Archive feature.

To archive a post that has already been made public, one just needs to tap '...' at the top of the post and desire Archive. The archived posts can then be seen when the user will tap the Archive icon in the top right corner of profile. Like this, the user will be able to go back to earlier posts and see all the likes and comments from friends. The post like this can be brought back to a profile by tapping Show on Profile, and it will be there in its original place.

As per the Instagram blog post, "Your profile is a representation of who you are and evolves with you over time. With Archive, you now have more flexibility to shape your profile while still preserving moments that matter."

The all new updates will be obtainable as the part of Instagram version 10.21 and above for iOS, in the Apple App Store, and for Android, in Google Play. Facebook-owned popular photo sharing app Instagram today owns more than 700 million vigorous users, and also the social media stage has newly came up with quite a few new features such as support for web links, hashtag stories and more.
