Sony Mobile Communications Inc Has Joined MulteFire Alliance for Advancing Industrial IoT and M2M Communications

Sony Mobile Communications Inc., a subsidiary of Sony Corporation for Mobile Communications segment has joined the MulteFire Alliance, an independent, diverse and international member-driven consortium defining and promoting MulteFire™. It was announced today by MulteFire Alliance. It is an international association dedicated to building a global ecosystem in support of the common interests of members, developers and users in the application of Long Term Evolution (LTE) and next generation mobile cellular technology in configurations that use only unlicensed and shared radio spectrum.

Izumu Kawanishi, the Executive Vice President for Sony Mobile’s Product Business Group said that “We value our membership in the MulteFire Alliance as the need for improved connectivity in industrial IoT settings and M2M communications is more important than ever, we recognize that industry collaboration through member-driven groups like the MulteFire Alliance serve as a driving factor to ensure market interoperability and expedited technology adoption.”
