The Silicon Review
29 May, 2018

The big data expo which ended on 29th of May had lots of interesting facts and ideas which were shared by the Chinese giants like Jack Ma Yun, Pony Ma Huateng, Robin Li Yanhong and many others. The four-day event was a mixture of tech exhibition, internet giants, and e-commerce summits for the people who participated in it.

Jack Ma Yun clearly mentioned the flaws in China. One of the major flaws is poverty. People living there are yet to identify their own assets and possession. Instead of providing funds, Jack Ma Yun wants to give them education and to teach them how to make money. By using their lands for farming and with the help of companies like Alibaba and Guizhou Province, China can create its own big data pilot zone.

Pony Ma Huateng feels that it is important to realize that “people can catch up with you if you don’t take it seriously”. Here he is talking about the growth of AI, tech chips, quantum computing and other technological aspects. He also said that Chinese companies must keep a close eye on basic scientific research that belongs to the core technology field.

Robin Li Yanhong was concerned about the security of all the self-driving vehicles. He assured that by the end of July he will be delivering autonomous cars on a large scale. Furthermore, said that safety should be the first law. He also put some light over the latest Baidu’s ad-free app. By using voice recognition this particular search engine can tell if it is an adult or a child or standard and change the mode accordingly.
