For the first time, Netflix breaks HBO’s record as the most nominated network at Emmy Awards

For the first time, Netflix breaks HBO’s record as the most nominated network at Emmy Awards

Netflix, one of the most trending online entertainment channels is ruling over the internet. The Netflix lovers would be glad to know that it has broken HBO’s 17 years’ record as the most nominated network at the Emmys. Netflix has outpaced HBO’s popularity; both being the top choice for watching online serials and films. While HBO got 108 nominations, Netflix has been nominated 112 times, having the clear lead as per the nominations released.

Some of the categories where Netflix has been nominated are Best Drama series for ‘The Crown’ and ‘Stranger Things’, Best Comedy nods for ‘GLOW’ and ‘Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt’, Best Television Movie for Black Mirror’s “USS Callister” episode. Some characters have also received huge popularity and have been nominated; Jason Bateman is nominated as best actor and director for ‘Ozark’.

Before Netflix, HBO had the sole dominance and was the best network for brewing high-quality content. But Netflix has witnessed a stunning glory in a very short span of time and its success has scared HBO and many other networks!

Though Netflix has appeared as a star of Emmy nominations, there are other streaming services that have got a good number of nominations. Hulu received 27 nominations, and Amazon has got 22 nominations. Let's hold our breath till September 17th when the winners will be announced in the ceremony hosted by Colin Jost and Michael Che.
