siliconreview Amazon witnessed its biggest shopping day in the company’s history

Cyber Monday, a shopping event on November 26th was the biggest shopping day in the history of Amazon as announced by the company. It was based on the number of products sold around the globe. The sales figure informed by Amazon on Cyber Monday succeeded Black Friday and even Amazon’s own shoppingoccasion known as Prime Day, held in July this year. Prime Day wasearlier the biggest sales day in the history of the company with over 100 million products sold.

The five-day shopping event that began with Thanksgiving and ended on Cyber Monday also known as “Turkey 5” broke all records. The sale skyrocketed as the customers in the United States purchased much more products over the five-day period compared to last year during the Thanksgivingperiod.

Although much information wasn’t offered by the retailers like they didn’t tell about the revenue figures, it did note what sorts of products were selling. More than 18 million toys were bought by customers all over the world.Millions of fashion products were sold on Black Friday and Cyber Monday combined. Many toys and electronics items were also ordered online using the Amazon mobile app on the occasion of Black Friday.Smart home devices’ sales were also record-breaking, with the purchase of Ring and Blink products.

The heavy discounts offered by Amazon were the reason for the enormous sales numbers but it is yet to be seen if it actually boosts revenues!
