The new device by OrCam, an Israel-based company will now allow people to remember faces. Dubbed as MyMe, the device is equipped with a small smartphone-like camera and the company’s own facial recognition algorithm. The algorithm will help people to associate names with faces.

The device can be worn in a T-shirt and could be useful at a business conference, or to track down a day to day activity.

MyMe doesn’t have video and audio recording facility. The device creates a signature when it detects a face. The signature is then matched with the existing ones. While the device is not a spy camera, a person can feel awkward if they come to know that someone is pointing a camera towards them.

The device automatically sends a notification to the user’s smartwatch and smartphone if someone is standing in front of them. Users can type the person’s name on their phone so that it shows his or her name with whom they are communicating.

The device also helps to match the person’s face with the information provided if he/she gives a business card. Users can tag people in different categories based on their designation. For example, users can make a tag for colleagues and family members and another one for friends.

Previously, the company has launched MyEye. It is a wearable device for the impaired ones. People can wear it by clipping it to their sunglasses. It has a camera and a speaker too.
