Messages for Android to Get Google Assistant Soon

Messages for Android will be powered by Google Assistant soon.The new development comes at a time when the company intends to shut down its previous consumer texting app called Allo this month.

The new app will be similar like Allo, and will somewhat operate like a smart reply.  Earlier, there were speculations about the release when the company unveiled that its consumer communication plan is focused on RCS.

Once the assistant is available for messages for Android, the users will be able to scan their messages for searching certain topics like weather, nearby restaurants, and movies. The AI will surface suggestion chips relevant to the user’s conversation which they carry out just above the text field.  The assistant panel along with a knowledge panel will be pop out once the users tap into the menu.

The users can send a card through the chatting to their friends by clicking the bottom left chip. As per privacy is concerned, messages will never be sent to the company’s database. The scanning which is made to surface suggestions remains intact on the devices, and Google will only decide and search the topic suggested by the user.

The assistant is rolling out for English users around the world soon.

Apart from the Android debut, the assistant will now be available in a few other new languages in Google Maps.

The company’s new development will boost Android users for good and the company is looking to expand its support form Assistant.
