New Version of Snapchat for Android is now available to all users Worldwide

Snapchat Inc has launched a revamped version of its Android app. The new app is supposed to be 20 percent faster than the older version and the size of it is also smaller. Developed under Project Mushroom, the new version of Snapchat is very good for Indian and other developing markets where the cost of iPhones are still expensive for buyers.

Within the first week of upgrading the new app, the company witnessed a six percent increase in the number of people on low-end devices using the app.

Coming to the end of the first quarter, the new version of Snapchat is available to everyone. The early results have been tremendous and new user retention will take some time to compound and meaningfully influence Snap’s top line metrics. The new version of Snapchat is now being experienced by billions of devices across the globe, and the company is looking to grow its Snapchat community in new markets, people familiar with the matter said.

If we look at the active users of Snapchat, there were 186 million daily active users in the final quarter of 2018 and coming almost to the end of Q1 2019, the active users are 190million. Therefore, 4 million users have been newly added; North America (1million), Europe (1million), and the rest 2miillion from the other regions of the world.

The project for redesigning the app was unveiled in 2017, and finally, after a long wait, the new Snapchat is out in the market.
