Changing the game: Paola Arbour is bringing a cultural revolution in her role as the CIO of Tenet Healthcare

Paola Arbour is the name to reckon with. Being the CIO of the $18B revenue company— Tenet Healthcare, Arbour isn’t a typical CIO. She has served in President and Vice president Rolesat ProV International and ServiceNow. Also with over 30 years of experience, Arbour has served in companies like EDS, HP, Dell and many more.

Tenet Healthcare is leading the way for innovative and value-based care delivery and payment models.  Based in Dallas, Texas, the company runs 65 acute care and specialty hospitals, as well as other facilities designed to meet evolving patient and community needs.

Paola Arbour joined the company one and half years earlier and noticed the IT department wasn’t delivering more than it was expected. Her prior experience serving the CIO’s gave her a different perspective and she decided to change the things worked.           

She changed the IT department from a cost focus to an investment focus. Her role in Tenet Healthcare includes making important decisions in their IT departments, based on the application of digital technology, data and automation, and customer experience

Paola Arbour spoke exclusively to the Forbes about her changes in IT department which were focused on enhancing the voice of the customer, changing the language of IT, building an innovation culture, and focusing on talent. Also,in her talk with Forbes, she briefed the need for transparency, communication, and collaboration among teams within the firm to reach great heights.
