Lifesize is a well-known Video Collaboration and meeting productivity solutions provider. Recently the company launched a Rooms-as-a-Service offering for customers. The offering is currently available for the US and Europe users. Expansion is planned for this year along with that the company offers organizations video collaboration solutions for $99 per month per room. The new offering from the company will provide customers all in one meeting room solutions and they can access this through a simple subscription. The services offered in the subscription are predictable price, fixed price for maintenance, cloud services, support, and meeting room hardware. The company made a statement in the first two years of service the customers would see almost 20-30 percent lower cost of ownership.
The service aims to bridge the gap in between 4k monitor system that is sold with maintenance contract and customer bringing their own equipment. The contract always includes phone support, monitoring, interoperability, and software updates. The company noticed that people were very reluctant to buy new equipment because of the web conferencing mindset so they might not know where they might go. Lifesize has 3 to 4 solutions in voice and content. Rooms as a Service will drastically reduce the perceived risks and provide flexibility to the consumers.
