Google to launch its all-new Android TV dongle Sabrina soon
The Silicon Review
25 August, 2020

According to a recent report, it was stated that Google was working on a new Android TV dongle with a codename Sabrina. The upcoming device has also appeared in the FCC filings, suggesting that it could be launched very soon in the market. The firm has registered the FCC filings with model numbers GZRNL and G9N9N. While GZRNL is an "Interactive Media Streaming Device," the device with model number G9N9N is described as a "Wireless Device" on the FCC website.

The FCC descriptions suggest that the device could be Sabrina, while G9N9N is likely to be its remote control. Unsurprisingly, the FCC filings do not reveal any critical details about the upcoming Android TV dongle, except that it will have Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity. Since Google is rumored to launch the Pixel 4a 5G and Pixel 5 smartphones on September 30, it is possible that "Sabrina" will also be unveiled alongside the new Pixels sometime next month.

One of Google's official stated that "it supports up to 4K videos with support for HDR10, HLG, and Dolby Vision standards. Google's upcoming Android TV dongle is expected to support an Auto Low-Latency Mode, which suggests the device will include Stadia support." It is said that Google will be launching its dongle by the end of September.
