New Features Coming To Google ...The global education community has quickly embraced Google Classroom to simplify and improve teaching and learning. Teachers are now using the tool as a meeting point during the pandemic. And many schools are using it as their Learning Management System (LMS). Google Classroom helps over 150 million students, educators, and school leaders all over the world. Now, Google has announced that the free web service will get new features over the next year.
Google will soon be introducing Classroom add-ons for educators using Google Workspace for Education Plus. This will let the educators choose their preferred EdTech tools and content from a marketplace and directly assign it to the students inside Classroom. This will be possible without extra log-ins.
Sometime this year, the admins using Education Plus will be given the control to create classes and sync rosters directly to Google Classroom from their Student Information System (SIS). Sooner than that, admins will be able to look at Classroom-related issues and locate the instigating events. The Classroom audit information will be available directly in the Admin Console.
“We’re updating the Classroom Android app to work offline or with intermittent connections. Students will be able to start their work offline, review assignments, open Drive attachments, and write assignments in Google Docs — all without an internet connection,” Google updated in its blog.
Further, students will soon be able to attach and submit the photos of their paper assignments in their Classroom Android app for teachers to review. The students will be able to combine all the assignment photos into a single document. They will be able to crop or rotate images and adjust their lighting too.
