The Silicon Review
09 Febuary, 2021

IBM and Palantir have come together to form a partnership to help deploy powerful and open AI applications and unlock valuable data across hybrid cloud environments. As part of the partnership, Palantir is also adopting Red Hat OpenShift.

The combined product delivered through this new partnership will make it easier for businesses to build and deploy AI-infused applications with IBM Watson. It will help the users access, analyze, and take action on the vast amounts of data, which may be distributed across hybrid cloud environments. This new product has been named IBM Cloud Pak for Data. Its general availability is planned for March of 2021.

"Our clients deliver products and services while operating in some of the most complex, fast-changing industries of the world," said Rob Thomas, Senior Vice President, Cloud and Data Platform, IBM. "Together, IBM and Palantir aim to make it easier than ever for businesses to put AI to work and become data-driven throughout their operations."

The new product has been designed to provide an easy to use "no-code/low-code" environment for building applications that use AI to inform data-driven decision making and automate tasks and processes. This product is built on Red Hat OpenShift and will help businesses reduce data silos, integrate data sources across hybrid cloud environments, govern data throughout the AI lifecycle.
