Altice USA to Roll out Its All-New Smart Wi-Fi 6 Bandwagon
The Silicon Review
30 April, 2021

Altice USA, Inc., an America-based pay television, Internet access, telephone services provider, recently has rolled out new Wi-Fi 6 capabilities for its top-tier Optimum and Suddenlink broadband customers and users. The company aims to keep up its pace with other competitors who have already started pushing the technology out to the subscribers. Altice USA reported that it has 4.36 million residential broadband customers as of end-2020.

The all-new Wi-Fi 6 requires a compatible router, and it will initially be available to new gig internet customers. The one gig service offers service to 92 percent of the homes it serves, but noted Smart Wi-Fi will be provided with the highest tier in the selected areas where that plan is not available. The company primarily focuses on providing a robust, faster, and improved Wi-Fi connectivity experience to its users across more devices throughout the home.

Smart Wi-Fi 6 will be three times faster than the currently available Smart Wi-Fi 5; it will also have improved in-home coverage facilities, which reduces lag. It is built to efficiently handle the increased traffic on home networks and help its customers take full advantage of high speeds coming into the home. Altice USA also added that it would continue to roll out much such fiber to more homes in their footprint and persevere with their flagship gigabit service tiers.
