Teledyne and FLIR forms a partnership to bring deep space to deep-sea sensing tech under one roof

Teledyne Technologies has formed a strategic partnership with FLIR Systems. This will help both the firms to become increasingly competitive in the world of unmanned and sensing capabilities. This merger makes it the only company with the breadth and depth of unmanned systems across its portfolio. FLIR continues to be very strong in automated airborne systems and ground systems and will provide Teledyne with next-generation services.

Besides, Teledyne brings a sophisticated set of capabilities, underwater systems as well as surface vehicles. The company aims to bring more advanced technology and integrate it into driving interoperability across all of these platforms to create an entirely new and unique way of solving complex operational problems in the defense sector.

FLIR will be fully incorporated into the digital imaging segment with Teledyne. Besides, it will also continue to capitalize on its successful contracts. FLIR will continue to supply the tiny Black Hornet. This palm-sized unmanned aircraft system has been the US Army's Soldier Borne Sensor, providing reconnaissance capabilities at the individual soldier level. Recently it won an additional $14.5 million contract to provide Black Hornet to the US Army.
