British Columbia introduces new COVID-19 certificate program for tourism and hospitality employees
The Silicon Review
04 June, 2021

In a recent announcement, British Columbia has stated that it has introduced a new COVID-19 safety certificate program for all the workers in the hospitality and tourism sectors. This new program is launched to increase consumer confidence as the organizations and businesses are all set to return to more normal operations.

It is reported that the government is investing a considerable sum of $640,000 in providing the organizations and training institutes that are participating in the training program. These organizations and institutes will receive a decal to make it easy for the visitors to identify that staff have taken the training. This program will empower employees, visitors, and communities to regain confidence in their business in the new norms by following health and safety best practices.

Besides, this program was a call to action from the Tourism Task Force to demonstrate to visitors that B.C. is a safe place to travel. It will also resolve conflict situations that arise from the non-compliance of safety protocols by guests, coworkers, and employers. It will also provide best practices for their workplace and community.
