Popular tech giant Microsoft has been adding custom touch controls to 100+ games over the last year. Since the launch of its cloud gaming service, xCloud, the company has continued to add various capabilities to make the streaming of games seamless. While this move might seem a bit gimmicky, recently, Microsoft has revealed that more than 20 percent of gamers prefer touch controls exclusively. Xbox’s senior program manager Monty Hernandez has stated that more than twenty percent of xCloud gamers prefer touch controls, and it is important for them to add more touch-enabled games.
Microsoft is also making sure that the launched games are relevant to their audiences and, most importantly, perform well in touch controls. It is astonishing to note that 30 percent of individual games are also using touch control exclusively, like New Super Lucky’s Tale, Dragon’s Quest XI, Yakuza: Like a Dragon, Hades, Football Manager 2022 Xbox Edition, and Minecraft Dungeons. A high level of usage has prompted game devs to add more custom touch controls to the games in the past year, and Microsoft has made it simple for them to add customized controls for each game. The number of players who use Xbox Cloud Gaming has doubled in numbers, and newer games are also now coming with impressive touch controls.
