Raymour & Flanigan, a popular name in the furniture manufacturing segment, has recently made an announcement that it has decided to add solar PV to power its operations onsite. This move is similar to other big box stores, and it is way better than opting for other alternatives like centralized renewable energy capacity, which will require highly robust infrastructure. As of now, three projects have been taken up by the furniture giant, and it is expected to power three locations in New Jersey.

In the company’s Monmouth Service Center, the expected power generation is around 633,500kW, and the project was successfully completed in the second half of 2021. The other two locations selected for the project are Clearance Center and the Fairfield Showroom. Both the places can now generate 883,260kW per year. The Fairfield location is all set to start power generation by June this year, and the above-mentioned projects were all carried out by Greenskies Clean Focus. All the three projects collectively are expected to bring down CO2 emissions by 656 metric tons in the first year of operation. This is huge and can be compared to taking more than 230 cars off the road and planting more than 18k tree seedlings.
