Interview Highlights

Q. What inspired the creation of your company? And where does it stand at the moment relative to other participants in the industry?

I have always been an entrepreneur at heart. I grew up as the class clown in school and didn’t fit into a traditional college path, so I went out of school straight into sales, where I realized I had a real knack for working with people and navigating businesses. I started working in the restaurant (hospitality) industry, and as a small business owner, I had to oversee and direct my business’s marketing. I realized that my real passion was not in any specific industry, but in helping companies realize their full potential. I went on to found PureDMS.

Q. Could you describe your typical management style and the type of employee that works well with you?

Ah that’s tough to say. Without sounding too self-congratulatory, I would say that my management style is most akin to Warren Buffet. I believe that the best way to manage is not to worry about empowering systems, but about empowering people. I believe that if you teach your employees correct principles, they will learn to govern themselves accordingly.

Q. What strategies are in place to encourage innovation in your company?

In 2022, online presence is everything. We understand that online and digital marketing goes beyond simple SEO. Our company is innovating the industry by focusing our strategy on brand identity through the ‘Local Radius’ connection. We utilize the following strategies:

  • Using ‘design thinking’, automated orchestration of customer journeys and personalization to deliver the best and most relevant experiences that are closely connected to customer needs.
  • Designing and implementing customer-centric operating models and CX technology stacks using scaled agile frameworks and methods.
  • Shifting the business model and customer experience to digital and direct to consumer (eCommerce).

Ultimately, our goal is to help effectively use data and technology in educating businesses at all levels of operations, and help connect customers to their community by satisfying their consumer needs. Overall, our services and technology are aimed at increasing acquisition, retention, and growth.

‘Local Radius’ is a powerful and affordable all-Inclusive online marketing and brand identity program.

Q. Will your company be expanding, bringing on any new products or services that we should be aware of?

Our company intends to expand services across the United States to help bridge the gap in marketing competitiveness for small businesses. We intend to start implementing customer experience (CX) measurement models and understanding customer engagement with novel methods that complement traditional ones such as net promoter scores (NPS) and customer satisfaction scores (CSAT). We also intend to expand our services to include Virtual/Augmented Reality to expand the experience of product testing and brand engagement to create interactive brand content.

Q. In what industries are your clients? Can you provide us with one or two success stories describing the challenges your clients faced and how your solutions helped them overcome those challenges?

We serve a diverse client base, supporting local operators with practical solutions in complex environments. In 2016, we were approached by a chapter of the Better Business Bureau (BBB). They wanted an online marketing solution for their members that provided lead generation, brand identity, and a strong online presence at a monthly price that “all” of their members could afford. That was a tall order. The Better Business Bureau has a membership base that largely comprises independent operators and small businesses, but they also have members that are large corporations and national organizations.

There was also an obvious issue of universal affordability that was typically contingent on the size of the business, but there was the additional hurdle of a ‘one size fits all’ solution. How do we make a marketing/brand identity program that is powerful enough for a major corporation, but accessible and affordable for an independent contractor? So, we created ‘Local Radius’. Regardless of the size of the business, the location, or the industry, the setup and basic execution are always the same — website development/optimization, online profile optimization, SEO, social media marketing, and online review generation. These five components make up the bulk of every successful online business profile, and they are the standard components and services that make up the ‘Local Radius’ program.

‘Local Radius’ was designed to create a solid online presence and visibility, but it was also designed to create a brand identity which ultimately creates ’conversion’. We explain to all our clients that their business website and associated online profile need to have the same appeal as a dating site – consumers do not stop on a profile that they do not like. People only explore a profile that intrigues them, and they typically will only engage if they think the business is professional and credible.

Consumers are creatures of habit and most do the same thing when they are searching for a business online – they will visit the business website, social media, online reviews, and Google business page. An up-to-date business has all of those components, and looks the most professional and appealing, typically will create a call to action – a call, email, purchase, or onsite visit.

Today, over 90 percent of all our current clients have the ‘Local Radius’ program and some have had the program since its inception in 2016. ‘Local Radius’ is a powerful all-inclusive solution that all businesses and organizations can afford, and it’s the baseline for every successful online business presence.

Q. About the future, where do you see your company a couple of years from now?

I consider myself an early pioneer of digital media and marketing, initially starting out in 2006. Over the years, I have seen a sharp inclination of self-proclaimed online marketing experts, typically working remotely throughout the globe, but unfortunately, most are unreliable and provide poor performance. They also typically do not have a storefront or an office which affects consumer confidence, local sales, and agency growth. Research and data suggest that most businesses and organizations want to work with a local online marketing provider whenever possible, mainly because of profile and payment security. People want to feel confident that they are working with a professional agency and that they have the option of meeting face-to-face if needed. Ironically, there are less than 0.1% of online marketing agencies that have a physical office, and there are almost no retail locations.

I see a giant opportunity to establish my brand as a local online marketing provider in major locations throughout California, Nevada, and Arizona. My first retail marketing location opened in March of 2022, and I plan on expanding throughout Southern California in select areas in 2023 ongoing. Over the next five years, I hope to open as many locations as possible.
