Meta Platforms Launches Brand New Fashion Clothing Store for Avatars

Meta has been looking to expand more towards a metaverse with interconnected digital worlds to let users gather.

American tech company Meta Platforms, which was formerly known as Facebook, Inc., in a recent press meet, has announced the launch of its brand new Avatars Store on Facebook, Instagram, and Messenger. It will allow the users to buy digital clothes to style their avatars. It is reported that the digital outfits from the top-most fashion companies like Balenciaga, Prada, and Thom Browne will be made available in the store.

Meta has been looking to expand more towards a metaverse with interconnected digital worlds to let users gather. According to Mark Zuckerberg, founder, and CEO of Meta, the store could turn into an "open marketplace" where the fashion developers can make and sell a wide array of digital clothes.

"We're launching our Avatar's Store on Facebook, Instagram, and Messenger so you can buy digital clothes to style your avatar," Mark Zuckerberg, founder and CEO of Meta stated. He also has said that digital goods will be an important way to express yourself in the metaverse and a significant driver of the creative economy. Meta is also backed by the French Competition Authority to share advertising data with competitors in France.
