World's only carbon neutral Spaceship, designed by Space Perspective

World's only carbon neutral Spaceship

28 July, 2022

Florida-based Space Perspective designed the world's only carbon-neutral spaceship with the help of the London-based studio Of My Imagination (OMI); it can travel up to 100,000 feet.

In the space tourism race, Space Perspective brought a niche to travel to the edge of space as "the only carbon-neutral, zero-emission way." Space Perspective plans to take passengers for suborbital adventures in a pressurized capsule suspended from an enormous high-tech version of a hot-air balloon.

The spaceship with a spherical capsule design affording travelers more head height and adds the safety benefit of being optimal for pressure resistance. We can get a better look at the luxury Space Lounge, with its reclining seats, well-stocked, and mood lighting bar. Similar to an astronaut's helmet, windows are reflective coated and are in place to keep temperatures comfortable, while a new thermal control system is patent-pending. If expanded, the balloon is around 18,000,000 cubic feet, enough for a football stadium to float inside.

By the end of 2024, Space Perspective aims to begin a six-hour flight by transporting groups of up to eight passengers. Tickets cost $125,000 per person, but according to Space Perspective, it has already sold nearly 900 of them. The company claims zero-emission because its craft defies gravity through buoyancy to jet off to space rather than using high-energy rockets. As helium is needed for critical medical applications and is in limited supply, Hydrogen is used in the spaceship.
