Former Twitter boss is subpoenaed by Elon Musk ahead of a court battle

Jack Dorsey, Twitter's co-founder, summoned to appear in court by Elon Musk as part of the legal battle with the social media giant.

As part of the trials, lawyers for Elon Musk have called on his friend, the former boss of Twitter, Jack Dorsey. He is summoned with the hope that he will support the argument of Mr. Musk that the social media company was not honest about the number of fake accounts on its platform.

Tesla's boss is seeking to end his $44bn deal with the social media site after alleging the company failed to provide enough information on fake accounts. But, Twitter is suing Elon Musk to try to force him to buy it. In October, the case will be in Delaware, the US, unless both parties decide to settle outside of court beforehand.

The world's wealthiest person said he planned to walk away from his deal to buy Twitter in July, provoking the company to sue him. Musk accused the company of withholding information about fake accounts, to which the social media site argued that these were excuses to cover buyer's remorse. The site has also issued its subpoenas to people who planned to invest in the deal with Mr. Musk.
