Reports suggest 5G IoT connect...Due to the low implementation costs of 5G networks, smart city services will experience a large growth.
According to a new estimate released on Tuesday, the number of 5G IoT (Internet of Things) connections worldwide will increase to 116 million by 2026 from just 17 million in 2023. By 2026, the research estimates that there will be 60 million 5G smart cities worldwide. Several cities have been considering using high-bandwidth gateways made possible through 5G connectivity. According to the research, the healthcare and smart city markets will account for more than 60% of total revenue.
According to the statistics, there will be more than 60 million 5G smart city connections worldwide by 2026, and city planning officials are urged to use 5G connectivity as high-bandwidth gateways. The survey also found that 5G-enabled high-bandwidth cellular connectivity will be necessary for the vital services of transportation network monitoring, including road and rail networks.
Healthcare delivery will be more effective and dynamic thanks to 5G, which was not possible with 4G or Wi-Fi. But prior to rolling out 5G, healthcare organizations must do so in applications that offer a high return on investment, most notably connected emergency services. The paper also forecasts that 5G networks will experience a considerable increase in smart city services because of their inexpensive implementation costs and capacity for carrying enormous volumes of data.
