In an international drive, Chinese Tesla rival Xpeng introduces its flagship EVs in Europe

As part of its rapid international expansion, Chinese electric vehicle firm Xpeng debuted two of its flagship vehicles on Friday in several European nations.

The business, which has its headquarters in Guangzhou, south China, announced that customers in Denmark, Norway, the Netherlands, and Sweden can now acquire updated versions of its P7 sedan and its G9 sports utility vehicle (SUV).

According to a news release from Xpeng's president, Brian Gu, the launch "represents a key milestone" as the business expands its European footprint. Although Xpeng has made an effort to compete with Tesla in China, it still lags behind Elon Musk's automaker in terms of deliveries. Following a challenging year in China that was impacted by a decline in demand, it is now looking to expand into overseas markets. This might put Xpeng and Tesla on a collision course in these new markets.

Overall, Xpeng has set its P7 sedan's pricing below Tesla's in Denmark, Norway, the Netherlands, and Sweden, even as the American electric vehicle manufacturer has been slashing prices everywhere to boost sales.
