Sandy Motley was appointed as Country Manager for Nokia in the U.S.

Sandy Motley Country Manager Nokia
The Silicon Review
23 Febuary, 2024

This appointment reflects Nokia's adoption of a new operational model introduced in October 2023

Nokia has appointed Sandy Motley, currently serving as President of the company’s Fixed Networks division, as the new Country Manager for Nokia in the U.S. With extensive telecoms experience spanning decades, Sandy has held various senior roles within Nokia, including her most recent position leading the Fixed Networks division since 2019. Her familiarity with the U.S. market stems from previous roles where she spearheaded business development and operations for various products and solutions. As Country Manager, Sandy will represent Nokia in the U.S., fostering relationships with key stakeholders such as governments, customers, and universities to build networks and promote collaboration and innovation.

Notably, this role is in addition to her leadership position within Nokia's Fixed Networks division under the Network Infrastructure business group, overseen by Federico Guillén. Sandy's appointment underscores Nokia's commitment to the U.S., where it boasts a significant presence with over 10,000 employees. As a pioneer in 5G technology deployment and with around 90% of the U.S. population connected by Nokia's network solutions, the company continues to invest in the region. Moreover, Nokia's world-renowned industrial research lab, Nokia Bell Labs, is located in the U.S. In August 2023, Nokia's commitment to the U.S. was further evidenced by its announcement to manufacture fiber broadband optical modules in the country for the Broadband Equity, Access, and Deployment (BEAD) program.
