Cohort announced for ScreenCraft Works cross-border mentoring programme

ScreenCraft Works has unveiled the cohort for its fourth cross-border mentoring programme

In 2024, a mentoring cohort was established to support both local and international career development, fostering global employment networks. Comprising 86 individuals from 30 different countries, the program aimed to match 44 mentees with volunteer mentors from diverse backgrounds based on their career aspirations. Notably, two individuals served as both mentees and mentors. With a specific emphasis on roles conducive to remote or hybrid work environments, the cohort encompassed various positions such as editor, audio post-production specialist, composer, writer, animator, VFX artist, production manager, producer, post-production supervisor, and professionals working in filmmaking and cinematography. Among the mentees were individuals seeking international allyship due to experiences of persecution or discrimination in their local contexts, as well as those navigating integration into new film and TV industries following international relocations.

The mentee cohort also included individuals returning to work, those with caregiving responsibilities, and individuals from rural areas with limited transport and communication access, reflecting a diverse range of ethnic, cultural, and religious backgrounds across all career stages. The selected mentees and mentors hail from a broad spectrum of 30 countries, nationalities, or heritages, including Argentina, Australia, Austria, Brazil, Canada, China, Cyprus, Denmark, the Dominican Republic, Egypt, France, Germany, Honduras, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Ireland, Jamaica, Japan, Mexico, New Zealand, The Netherlands, Nigeria, Portugal, Russia, South Africa, South Korea, Spain, the UK, and the USA.
