SailGP expanded the commercial agreement with Sonesta International Hotels

The new agreement makes Sonesta International Hotels the official hotel partner of the United States SailGP

SailGP, one of the world's fastest-growing sports companies, has expanded its partnership with Sonesta International Hotels, a leading US hotel brand. This collaboration brings together two organizations that have experienced significant growth in their respective fields in recent years. The newly formed association names Sonesta International Hotels as the official hotel partner for the United States SailGP team during the four US SailGP events scheduled for the 2018 season. According to this arrangement, Sonesta International Hotels will provide top accommodations and fan experiences to the US SailGP team, SailGP fans, and Sonesta Travel Pass holders during the season finale in San Francisco on July 13-14 and the New York Sail Grand Prix on June 22-23.

Sonesta International Hotels began collaborating with the US SailGP Team and the league in 2023, with their partnership debuting in the US Sail Grand Prix at Navy Pier in Chicago and the SailGP season three grand final in San Francisco. The Avenue Sports Fund, overseen by Avenue Capital Group CEO Marc Lasry, serves as the investment group's leader. Notable participants include Ryan McKillen, the founding Uber engineer; two-time world champion sailor Mike Buckley; world champion boxer Deontay Wilder; former US soccer player Jozy Altidore; Muse Capital's Assia Grazioli-Venier; entrepreneur Gary Vaynerchuk; and National Football League (NFL) players DeAndre Hopkins, Malik Jackson, Roquan Smith, and Kayvon Thibodeaux.
