CEO Laxman Narasimhan lays out new geographic leadership and global support structure

Starbucks Coffee Company (NASDAQ: SBUX) has announced a series of leadership changes, introducing a clear geographic leadership structure complemented by global functions boasting extensive expertise in their respective domains and the capacity to drive global impact. These changes are slated to take effect on April 1. Laxman Narasimhan, Starbucks' chief executive officer, revealed the developments to global partners earlier today, noting progress on the Triple Shot with Two Pumps Reinvention Plan. Narasimhan emphasized the company's aim to hasten progress in line with its ambitions by realigning the organization. This realignment aims to strike a balance between geographical focus and investment in functional capabilities to facilitate global scalability, foster productivity, and rejuvenate the partner culture.

Sara Trilling will retain her position as Executive Vice President and President, North America, focusing on enhancing the retail partner experience and expanding the North America store portfolio and licensed store business, reporting to Conway. In lieu of replacing the global chief marketing position held by Brewer, each geographic CEO will receive regional marketing support. Narasimhan also announced two new global positions: Lyne Castonguay as Executive Vice President and Chief Merchant and Product Officer, overseeing a newly created global function focused on global product strategy and development, and a forthcoming appointment for a Global Brand Creative Leader.
