US-based payments orchestration platform Spreedly has appointed Peter Dougherty as its new president

In the realm of payment technology, it is stated that Dougherty will take charge of overseeing all aspects of Spreedly's market operations, including customer support, sales, marketing, and partnerships. Spreedly highlights that their new president brings a wealth of experience in leading and expanding global teams to drive product development and foster new revenue streams. Prior to his tenure at Spreedly, Dougherty held positions at merchant commerce platform Lightspeed Commerce for over 12 years, progressing from senior director of partnerships to general manager (GM) and executive vice president (EVP) of the Lightspeed restaurant division.

Based in Durham, North Carolina, Spreedly offers payment orchestration technology, enabling businesses to connect to payment services in more than 100 countries through a single API. The company boasts of serving "hundreds" of global customers who secure card data in their PCI-compliant vault and utilize tokenized card data to facilitate over $50 billion of annual transaction volumes with any payment service. Dougherty's appointment adds to the recent surge in fintech president appointments, joining the ranks alongside Ruben Salazar Genovez at TerraPay, Jennifer Taylor at Plaid, and Karandeep Anand at Brex.
