AkzoNobel completed capacity e...This initiative aligns with AkzoNobel's ambitious goal to halve its carbon emissions by 2030
AkzoNobel has recently completed a significant investment project at its production plant located in Bac Ninh province, near Hanoi, Vietnam. This development aims to bolster the company's presence in Asia while emphasizing its commitment to sustainable manufacturing practices. The project involved the addition of five new powder coating lines and a dedicated line for manufacturing water-based products tailored for the consumer electronics market, including IT, wireless, and home appliances. The total investment for these enhancements amounts to €18.5 million.
Jeff Jirak, serving as the managing director of AkzoNobel's powder coatings business, expressed optimism about the impact of these cutting-edge powder coating lines. He emphasized their role in facilitating growth alongside customers, ensuring prompt service delivery, and contributing to a more sustainable future. The expansion in capacity at the Bac Ninh site is strategically positioned to cater to the increasing demand in the northern region of Vietnam, complementing the company's existing facility in Dong Nai, which serves the southern part of the country. This move allows AkzoNobel to streamline its manufacturing processes to effectively meet the diverse market demands in Vietnam. The project also included the construction of a fully automated warehouse dedicated to consumer electronics activities and the implementation of advanced equipment and technology to enhance productivity and efficiency. Additionally, the installation of a new line for water-based consumer electronics products is expected to contribute to emissions reduction across the entire value chain.
