Gilat Wavestream to provide additional 50W Ka-band BUCs for long-term sustainment of thousands of mobile Satellite Transportable Terminals (STTs)

Gilat Satellite Networks Ltd., a leading provider of satellite-based broadband communications technology, solutions, and services worldwide, announced that its subsidiary DataPath, Inc., had been awarded a $12 million contract by the United States Army. The contract aimed to sustain anytime, anywhere satellite connectivity as part of an ongoing program. Under the contract, DataPath, Inc. supplied Wavestream’s Solid State Amplifier (SSPA) products. These SSPAs, manufactured by Wavestream, were designed to endure harsh environments, ensuring reliable satellite connectivity for Satellite Transportable Terminals (STTs) deployed across diverse climates and conditions globally. This contract highlighted Gilat's ability to utilize the capabilities of its US-based subsidiaries, Gilat Wavestream and DataPath, Inc.

Bob Huffman, General Manager of Gilat Wavestream, expressed satisfaction with the contract, emphasizing the reliability of Wavestream's products in supporting the Army's satellite communication needs in challenging environments. He noted the extensive deployment of BUCs (Block Upconverters) to the military over the years and the company's commitment to providing proven technology for mission-critical telecommunications. David McDonald, President of DataPath, Inc., echoed Huffman's sentiments, emphasizing the company's dedication to excellence and the strength of its diversified capabilities. He highlighted the partnership between DataPath and Gilat Wavestream as trusted suppliers to the US defense community.
