Through in-depth discussions and outcome-oriented group sessions, the participants identified critical gaps in the Indian telecom ecosystem

In a groundbreaking move aimed at propelling India's telecommunications sector into the future, the Department of Telecommunications (DoT) orchestrated the "Telecom Design Collaboration Sprint" at IIIT Bangalore. This innovative sprint brought together a diverse array of stakeholders including startups, MSMEs, academia, and research institutions, marking a significant milestone in industry collaboration. Fifteen leading startups and MSMEs specializing in Radio Access Network (RAN) and Core ecosystems, alongside esteemed institutions like IIT Madras, C-DOT, and IIT Delhi, participated in this collaborative endeavor. The Sprint's primary focus was on rapid ideation and the development of innovative solutions towards building a comprehensive 5G infrastructure while laying the groundwork for future technologies like 6G.

Three main goals guided the Sprint's efforts: utilizing group capabilities, promoting comprehensive solutions, and opening up new market prospects in the telecom sector. Through in-depth discussions and outcome-oriented group sessions, the participants identified critical gaps in the Indian telecom ecosystem and formulated strategies to address them. The formation of focused groups dedicated to core infrastructure, distribution units, radio units, and central units underscored the commitment to bridging existing gaps and preparing for the next wave of technological advancements. Additionally, two working groups were established to facilitate ongoing collaboration and innovation.
