FCI Launches 'Anna Darpan' to ...This modern platform is an important part of FCI's 100-day program, which aims to modernize its operations and increase productivity throughout the food Supply chain
The Food Corporation of India (FCI) launched a comprehensive digital transformation program with the introduction of "Anna Darpan," an integrated supply chain management system based on microservices. This modern platform is an important part of FCI's 100-day program, which aims to modernize its operations and increase productivity throughout the food supply chain.
The current Depot Online System will be replaced by "Anna Darpan," which will connect Mandis operations to both owned and rented mills and depots. The effort, led by Coforge Limited, a system integrator, promises API-based integration with external partners and seamless communication between microservices, resulting in a more efficient supply chain. Apart from improving its software, FCI is also modernizing its physical infrastructure. With the help of the private sector, six innovative silos with 50,000 tonnes each have been built under the Design, Build, Finance, Own and Operate (DBFOO) model, increasing FCI's storage capacity in Bihar, Punjab, and Gujarat by a total of 1.5 lakh tons.
Furthermore, FCI is investing in advanced security measures by installing modern IP-based video surveillance systems in its 561 depots. This initiative will enhance monitoring capabilities with high-resolution imaging, improved scalability, and remote access. FCI hopes to employ these innovative measures to build a strong, effective food supply chain that can fulfill the country's expanding demands while utilizing data analytics for strategic decision-making.
