Retail disruption: aims for 1,000 autonomous stores by 2026 across Europe.

In a bold stride, Portuguese startup Sensei has raised €15 million (about $16 million) in a Series A fundraising round headed by Blue Crow Capital, signaling a daring step towards the future of retail. With this large investment, Sensei hopes to reach 1,000 fully autonomous points of sale by 2026 as it deploys its cutting-edge contactless shop platform throughout Europe. To reinvent the shopping experience, Sensei's technology makes use of real-time algorithms, AI-powered sensors, and state-of-the-art computer vision. Because their carts are updated automatically, customers may experience effortless transactions, which guarantee efficiency and privacy at every stage. With current operations in Portugal, Spain, France, Italy, and Brazil, Sensei is well-positioned to disrupt the conventional retail industry by providing retailers with real-time operational visibility, cutting down on checkout costs, and avoiding stock-outs.

Vasco Portugal, the CEO, highlighted the critical need for automation in the retail industry, indicating that the current state of customer experiences is poor and that processing sales data is laborious. With other businesses like Standard Cognition and Trigo battling for market share, Sensei's innovations put it in a strong position to lead the contactless revolution as competition heats up.
