A Tesla Cyber truck was salvaged from California’s Ventura Harbor this week after its driver accidentally reversed into the water, challenging Tesla’s assertion that the vehicle can “briefly serve as a boat.” Viral footage shows the angular stainless-steel EV partially submerged, with water breaching its cabin floor—a stark contrast to Elon Musk’s 2023 demonstration where the Cyber truck traversed a river. While no injuries occurred, the incident raises critical questions about EV safety protocols in water-related emergencies and exposes vulnerabilities in Tesla’s much-hyped “exoskeleton” design.
