At the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore, Sri Lanka defeated Pakistan by eight wickets thanks to a career-high 5 wickets from Dilshan Madushanka. Tuesday's decisive victory eliminates England from the competition while securing Sri Lanka's spot in the tournament final.

After winning the toss and choosing to field first, the Sri Lankan bowling team displayed incredible discipline and accuracy. Leading the carnage was left-arm bowler Dilshan Madushanka, who removed opener Fakhar Zaman with a well-timed short delivery. Under constant pressure, Pakistan's batting order failed to establish a rhythm and was dismissed for just 110 runs in 25.3 overs, their second-lowest ODI total at home.

With a valiant 29 from 33 balls, former captain Babar Azam led the hosts in scoring, while Hasan Nawaz contributed 17. But Pakistan's innings was hampered by soft dismissals. Madushanka easily cut through both the top order and the tail, finishing with incredible scores of 5 for 34. By taking two vital wickets, spinner Sahan Arachchige provided outstanding support and made sure Pakistan had no space to form partnerships.

The guests found it easy to reach the aim of 111 runs. With complete confidence, Sri Lanka's top order anchored the chase and found the goal in 18.1 overs. With an undefeated 62 from 60 deliveries, including two sixes and eight boundaries, master batsman Kamindu Mendis skillfully anchored the reply. With a huge 191 balls left, Pavan Rathnayake added a solid 23 to lead the team across the finish line.

The complete loss stuns the home audience and gives Sri Lanka a significant psychological advantage going into the tournament's last game. Given their impressive run earlier in the series, Pakistan's incapacity to manage the moving ball and form meaningful partnerships created obvious concerns for the team management. However, Sri Lanka's clinical performance in both areas demonstrates how well they have acclimated to the Lahore environment, making Saturday's final an eagerly awaited rematch where the visitors have a significant advantage. On Saturday, October 31, the both sides will square off one more in the competition final at the same location, with the hosts hoping to make amends.
