The Silicon Review
With the rapid development of the cyber threat landscape, we can all agree that having the proper protection for your business is difficult. Cybersecurity is definitely hard work in these times. But there are always resource constraints. It could be related to time or limited resources. But the growing threats coupled with the growing compliance requirements are leaving businesses at a disadvantage. Cygilant partners with businesses to extend its cyber security-as-a-service that overcomes these resource constraints, reduces threats and helps achieves compliance.
Founded in 2001, Cygilant’s main goal is to help businesses reduce the stress of cybersecurity. “Our partnership with Cygilant is a critical piece in making the IT environment at Aqua Finance much more stable, reliable, and secure,” said Mark Vander Sanden, Executive Vice President and CIO, Aqua Finance. The company has helped 200+ businesses across dozens of industries achieve their strategic cybersecurity goals while dramatically reducing costs.
Headquartered in Burlington, Massachusetts, Cygilant has over 20 years of experience helping hundreds of customers in the financial services, healthcare, and education industries secure their networks and data. Cygilant Cybersecurity-as-a-Service is a subscription service that offers a simple approach to complex security problems and a team that has your back. Businesses can choose the right service bundle and gain access to Cygilant Cybersecurity Advisors and its SOC-as-a-Service, a 24×7 team for monitoring, management and compliance. This means that a dedicated CSA conducts regular reviews with a business team on the security posture of the company.
For this, Cyglilant will collect security events across your IT infrastructure, network, and applications. Its cybersecurity advisors triage and investigate potential security incidents to give businesses rapid, actionable recommendations. For SIEM, businesses can choose either Cygilant’s SOCVue platform or leverage AlienVault.
Cygilant’s expertise in security monitoring is rooted in 20 years of experience and having worked with hundreds of customers. The company’s SOCVue Security Monitoring collects security events across the IT infrastructure, network, and applications. This means that Cygilant can save your precious time that is spent digging through the noise of thousands of events, or analyzing raw log files, to determine what is happening in the network. How does Cygilant do this? By combining log management and SIEM technology with machine learning, Cygilant helps to eliminate threats and meet compliance objectives proactively.
The company also performs discovery scans (Qualys VM, Nessus, or Rapid7) to identify IT assets on a network. Regular scans detect vulnerabilities in the OS, applications, and services running on business assets. Cygilant prioritizes, assigns, investigates, and remediates vulnerabilities.
Cygilant can set up scanning to discover missing software patches that leave a businesses’ IT assets exposed. Its SOCVue platform helps schedule, approve and deploy patches. The service includes a subscription license to the Ivanti Security Controls Patch Management product. “With Cygilant, we gain cybersecurity expertise to handle our log management and SIEM needs without spending for a full-time, in-house employee,” said Sherry Horeanopoulos, Information Security Officer, Fitchburg State University.
In March 2021, Cygilant was named as a Gold Winner in the Company of the Year | Security Hybrid Category in the 17th Annual 2021 Cyber Security Global Excellence Awards®. These prestigious global awards recognize cybersecurity and information technology vendors with advanced, ground-breaking products, solutions, and services that are helping set the bar higher for others in all areas of security and technologies.
